Health & Safety at Work
This course meets the requirements of Ontario Regulation 297/13 made under the Occupational Health and Safety Act requiring any worker (new or existing) to have proof of completing a basic occupational health and safety awareness course. This course explains your right and responsibilities on the job, as well as the responsibilities of your supervisor and employer. This course is designed to help workers work in a safe manner and prevent illness or injury in the workplace.
The areas of training will include:
- The duties and rights of workers
- Duties of the employer and supervisor
- Roles of health and safety representatives and JHSCs
- The role of the MOL and other workplace parties
- Common workplace hazards
A record of training will be given to the student on successful completion of the course.
