The Terrazzo, Tile & Marble Trade School provides an open access to training. This craft also offers an excellent opportunity for both men and women in the terrazzo, tile and stone industry.

Training courses are available for beginners, as well as comprehensive training in the craft for advanced workers.

There are various workstations throughout the Trade School to provide hands-on training in all aspects of terrazzo, tile and natural stone installations. The school is set up to simulate an actual construction site.

Training School Application (Level 1 Basic) – Requires $25.00 application fee
Payment Level 1-  Basic Apprenticeship Course
Payment Level 2-  Advanced Apprenticeship Course

Note: Once the application has been received and reviewed, the applicant will be contacted to arrange a time to write the entrance exam.

  • Contact the Trade School to set up an appointment
  • Then visit the Trade School (All Trade School applicants are invited to an interview prior to the beginning of each course)
  • Fill out the applications and pay the applicable fees.

Tuition

Basic 9-week course: $400.00 + $70.00 Ministry Fee

Advanced 9-week course: $400.00 (Once you have completed the Basic course)

** A fee of $60.00+ GHT is payable by all students to the college of trades upon acceptance into the course.
* A fully refundable $25 Application Fee is payable by cheque or cash when the application is submitted. On acceptance, the $25 fee is credited to the individuals Trade School tuition. Should the applicant not be accepted, the $25 fee will be refunded in full. If the applicant fails to attend the scheduled interview, the $25 fee is forfeited and applied to TTMTS for administrative costs.

Courses are open to residents of Ontario only.

    That is a good way of getting in the union, what kind of wage would one start with, upon completion of this program

      Hi Sam,
      First and foremost the trade school does not guarantee employment, that said the School is funded by the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities, the union and the unionized contractors in Ontario so we can help you get on the correct path. To complete your apprenticeship in the Tile, Terrazzo & Marble Trades you have to complete 2 in school training course and 5600 of on the job training. A first year unionized apprentice makes +/- $18.00 not including benefits like dental , medical, pension etc.
